A family safety app that reaches your people fast

OrbilyLive is a family safety app that gets word to the people who already care about you. An SOS alerts everyone in your orbit with where you are, a check-in tells them you have arrived, and OrbilyLive can tell you when someone gets home. SOS and check-ins are free on every plan. OrbilyLive is not an emergency service: if someone is in danger, call 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number, first.

How does an SOS work in OrbilyLive?

Tap SOS and a 10-second countdown starts, so a mistaken tap can be cancelled. Then everyone else in your orbit is alerted, with where you were at that moment. They tap “I'm on it” so you and the others know someone is responding. When you are safe, you end it with “I'm safe now”.

What is a check-in?

A check-in is a quick “I'm here”. Pick a nearby place, add a message if you like, and it goes to the orbit's chat and map. The check-in's location is removed after 24 hours.

Can I ask someone in my family to check in?

Yes. Ask to check in from their profile, with a reason such as “Home soon?” and a window of 15 minutes to 2 hours. They get a nudge and answer with a check-in. If the window passes with no answer, you are told what is known and what to do next. Asking is free for everyone.

Will I know when my family gets home?

Yes. When someone shares their location with your orbit, OrbilyLive can tell you when they arrive home or leave work. Each person chooses whether their arrivals and departures are announced.

What is a safety boundary?

A safety boundary is an area drawn around a place that matters, such as home or school, with the times it applies. The person it is for is always asked first and decides. Once they agree, you are told if they leave the area during those times and when they are back, and they can switch it off whenever they want. Drawing a new boundary is part of OrbilyLive Plus.

Is OrbilyLive an emergency service?

No. OrbilyLive connects you with your people. It does not call the emergency services for you and does not detect crashes. If someone is in danger, call 999 in the UK, 112 in Europe, 911 in the US, or your local emergency number.

Are the safety features free?

Yes. SOS, check-ins, asking someone to check in and live location sharing are free for everyone, and they stay free on every plan.

More questions about safety

No. An SOS sends a single snapshot of where you were when you sent it. It does not switch on live location sharing.
